Do I need a special cutting board?
No. ROO sits under the board you already own and fits boards up to 16 inches wide. The fitted board is there for anyone starting out without one.
Why not just use a bowl?
A bowl big enough to be useful is big enough to be in the way, and you still carry it to the bin at the end. ROO's pouch sits at the edge of the board, so scraps go over the side as you chop and the counter stays clear.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Yes. Tip the pouch into the bin and rinse it, or put the whole mat on the dishwasher's top shelf. It is one piece of silicone, so there is nothing to take apart and nowhere for food to hide.
How does it stay in place?
The silicone grips the counter on contact, with no suction cups, clamps or damp cloth underneath, and it holds your cutting board steady while you work.
